Make Your Dreams Come True
I love true stories of women taking action and making incredible changes in their lives. And I get even more excited when a dear friend makes a HUGE change because of having read this very newsletter three weeks ago. What happened is that I sent a preview of my ‘personal insights’ to the woman that I write about just a few paragraphs down. It was a difficult situation for both of us but she read it and gave me permission to tell the story.
I had no idea, and neither did she, that it would cause a hurricane effect in her life. As a result of reading what I wrote, she became very clear and committed to her passion, her career dreams have come true and there has been a radical change in her attitude about what she can achieve. Do you want to know what happened to her? Would you like to have your dreams come true? It all began for my friend with the following paragraph…..
At this time of year, it is oftentimes when we reflect and contemplate the past year and think about the future in a meditative frame of mind. The newsletters and emails are full of gratitude and best wishes for the upcoming year. Although I fully acknowledge those good feelings and wishes, I believe that NOW is the time to ensure that 2006 is your BEST year ever. How would you feel about that?
I vividly recall my life just 12 months ago. I was living in the cabin in the woods, struggling with the cold, dealing with a serious rodent problem. By the end of December, I had used up my available savings as the first five months of 2004 were the only income producing months for me. I had then left for South Africa and returned to spend four months putting the pole dancing business together, during which time I earned very little money. I did not have the funds to spend Christmas with my sister.
It was one of those few times in my life when I seriously questioned my sanity as an entrepreneur! My sister, recently retired from a 25 year career was quietly wondering why I didn’t go get a job! Can you just maybe relate?
However, I was living the consequences of choices that I made in 2004. A choice to volunteer in South Africa for two months; a choice to live in an old, rustic cabin so I could be on the ocean; a choice to spend months building a solid foundation for a business that I knew would make me lots of money in 2005. And so I faced those consequences last December…….. and I made a different choice for 2005.
What was that choice?
I made a choice to commit to a much higher level of financial success.
I decided to make more money, lots more in 2005 than I did in 2004, and as I end the year and hand everything over to my bookkeeper, I know that I will be paying more in income tax this year than I claimed as income for 2004. So I succeeded in producing significantly different consequences in my life this December. I am leaving tomorrow to spend Christmas with my sister!
So as you end 2005, what do you want in 2006? Do you want to find your passion? Then commit to finding it. Do you want to earn more money in 2006? How much more? Get specific. How will you do that? Commit to a financial goal. Put your plan in place and work your plan. Do you want to be in a relationship in 2006? Then how are you going to manifest one?
A friend phoned me this week whining and complaining. It wasn’t the first time I had heard about the problems; the negativity; the difficult situations. I stopped her in mid-sentence and said, “The buck stops here. You are responsible for your past, 110% of it and you are responsible for your future.” She tried to come up with yet another excuse to justify her complaints and I repeated the sentence, “The buck stops here. You are the ONLY one responsible for your past and you are the ONLY one responsible for your future. Get that my dear and you will change your life.” She became very silent and hung up the phone pretty upset. But she also phoned me the next day to say “thank you for loving me enough to tell me what I needed to hear”.
If I had three secrets to give you that have made this year the best, the most powerful, the most exciting, and the most fulfilling year of my life, that have the potential to change your life, I would say:
Commit. Don’t wimp out when the going gets tough. Be a warrior and ‘just do it’.
Take responsibility. There is nobody else out there that is going to give you the life you say you want. The buck stops with you.
Have faith. Stop doubting. Persist in your course KNOWING that you will succeed if you persist. Focus on your results and have the faith that you can do it. Whatever you want is already ‘done’. Live your life with that level of knowingness.
It was these three secrets that changed my dear friend’s life. She was able to quote them back to me verbatim after she read this newsletter. But more importantly, she didn’t just read them. She took action on them and it was that action that created the incredible changes I wrote about in the second paragraph.
It is said that successful people make decisions quickly and change their mind slowly. Unsuccessful people make decisions slowly and change their minds quickly.
So if you are one of those that suffer with analysis paralysis, you contemplate everything in detail, you spend weeks agonizing over every decision wondering if you made the right one…………….. your lack of ability to make a decision and commit, your unwillingness to take responsibility and your insufficient faith that you will succeed, may be precisely what is holding you back. Perhaps your first decision for 2006 needs to be to change the way you make decisions.
I have committed to doing everything that I can to provide you with the resources, tools, keys and education to support you in growing your business, in growing your life. I am committed to making 2006 an amazing year; the best yet in my personal and business life. What are you committed to for yourself and for your business?
I wish every one of my readers an amazing holiday season. May it be filled with joy, peace, good times, some quiet times and lots of laughter. Choose now; make your plans before the end of the year. Decide today what 2006 will bring for you.
Then go get it!With love and light,
Jan
